The Unkind Note Interactive Adventure: Upstander and Anti-Bullying SEL Lesson, Film and Games

An interactive, ready-to-teach 45-minute lesson about being an upstander and anti-bullying for students aged 7 to 11. Students don't just watch the story, they step inside it. It runs entirely from this download: no internet connection, no accounts and no student data. How it works Unzip the folder and open one file in your web browser. The animated film pauses for Pause and Predict and Choose the Ending, then students walk Maya and Leo to a trusted adult with upstander choices, name feelings with the Feelings Thermometer, catch upstander choices in the Upstander Catcher, build their own avatar and earn the Upstander Champion badge. The story On Monday morning, Leo finds a folded note under his reading book. It says: Nobody wants you on their team. Leo hides it in his pocket and sits alone at break. Maya saw Ollie leave the note, and a voice in her head says: Just keep out of it. Doing nothing feels easier, but it does not feel right. Maya sits with Leo, tells him the note is not true, and goes with him to tell Ms Harper. Ms Harper teaches the class three important words, Notice, Support, Tell, and helps Ollie put things right.
