Halloween Escape Room | Witch Potion Game | K–2 Math & Literacy

Bring a little Halloween magic to your classroom with a real escape room! Each of the 6 missions has a mission mat and a page of cut-apart cards. Students cut, sort, match, count and measure to find a one-digit code. Teams show their code to the teacher to unlock the next envelope. In the final challenge, students write the 6 codes in the order of Willa’s Spell Book to build a 6-digit spell code. Only ONE Magic Card says SPARKLE! The 6 missions: • Mission 1, Frog Spots: addition within 10 (make 7) • Mission 2, Moon Dust: beginning sound m • Mission 3, Bat Wings: AB, ABB and ABC patterns • Mission 4, Spider Eggs: counting and ordering 1–10 • Mission 5, Starlight Potion: logic with 4 detective clues • Mission 6, Broom Straw: measuring length with a candy corn ruler Every mission includes trick cards, so students check their thinking instead of guessing. Wrong spell codes lead to funny Magic Cards that tell the team which mission to recheck. Differentiation: Kindergarten: teacher-guided, pre-cut cards, directions read aloud (remove trick cards for extra support). Grade 1: small groups, more independent solving. Grade 2: review, centers or a timed challenge with no hints.
