The Stormy Afternoon
Late one afternoon, dark clouds began to gather above the town. The wind picked up, and soon the sky became much darker.
Lucas watched the changing weather from his living room window. Suddenly, thunder rumbled loudly and heavy rain started to fall.
Lightning flashed across the sky, briefly lighting up the neighbourhood. Lucas’s mother reminded him to stay inside until the storm passed.
After about an hour, the rain slowed and the clouds began to move away. A bright rainbow appeared across the sky.
Lucas realised that even powerful storms eventually pass.
